The amount of support bikers bring to a cause is truly inspiring. This year's Aidan's Ride West Virginia was no exception. The ride is one of many spread across the United States in cities like, Brooklyn, Freehold, Philadelphia, Sturgis, Temecula, Charlotte, St. Louis, Miami, Waynesboro Virginia and where it all started Morgantown West Virginia.
The Aidan Jack Seeger Foundation has crafted unique rides throughout these cities and more in an effort to spread awareness and educate people about ALD and its effect on young boys.
What is ALD?
Adrenoleukodystrophy, or ALD, is a deadly genetic disease that affects 1 in 17,000 people. As it is an X-linked genetic disease, it most severely affects boys and men. This brain disorder destroys myelin, the protective sheath that surrounds the brain’s neurons — the nerve cells that allow us to think and to control our muscles. It knows no racial, ethnic or geographic barriers. The most devastating form of ALD appears in childhood, generally between the ages of four and ten years old.

Aidan's Law would make it mandatory for every hospital in the US to test for this disease at birth. A simple prick of the baby's heel is all it takes to save a life. The Aidan Jack Seeger Foundation founded by super woman Elisa Seeger have fought day in and out promoting this law. The ride in West Virginia was welcomed by great weather, great people, a one of a kind performance by Rebel Sons and after party with raffle prizes food and drinks. All rides organized by the foundation with all proceeds going to benefit the charity and families effected by ALD.
